Dog Boy

Dog Boy - Unpainted Dog Boy - Painted This Dog Boy was made from a figure from the Mystic Knights of Tir na Nog line (the Lightning Bat, I think he's called- a cool figure, but the face was horrible) and some miscellaneous other stuff. The head was from the dog that came with a so-called "deluxe" Batman Beyond figure. I pulled off the Lightning Bat's head (which was butt ugly anyway) and sawed off the bottom segment of the neck. After decapitating Terry's dog, I grafted the canine head to the neck piece, which gave my composite a poseable head. Then I sawed off the "wings" on the figure's boots and used more putty to cover up some of the bone details on the his armor, to try to give it a more high-tech look.

Finally, I hot glued on a couple of pieces of chest and back armor and gave him a weapon (yeah, I've been using a lot of stuff from Ronin Warriors figures- they've had a lot of them at Big Lots). The armor wasn't really an attempt to accurately recreate the Dog Boy riot armor as seen in the books, but it's close enough for my tastes. I left some of the figure's original bone and spike details visible, to give it that "badass Dog Pack" image.

Finally, I painted the figure's armor a nice blue-black and painted the head to match the rest of the fur. Unfortunately, that nice blue-black didn't scan very well, as gloss paints tend to do. Luckily, I had made a scan of the figure before I painted it (the pic on the left), which give you an idea of what this thing really looks like.
