Wild Psi-Stalker

Wild Psi-Stalker Guess what? It's a Rifts figure that isn't made from a wrestler. Instead, I took a Disney Tarzan figure and made a wild Psi-Stalker. I picked up the figure because I thought it looked pretty cool (for a guy in a loincloth, that is) and had some neat accessories (a zip line arrangement that I have the red Juicer hanging from right now). And I got the idea to turn it into a psi-stalker, for several reasons. One, nearly-naked figures are kinda hard to find, and that'd be what would be easiest to work from. Two, it was on approximately the same scale as my other Rifts kitbashes. Three...well, there is no three.

The first step in creating this was to yank poor Tarzan's hair out by the roots (ouch). Unfortunately, it turned out that a portion of the back of his head was missing (and he had a large crease in his skull, too. So, naturally, it was time for the epoxy putty (see a trend here?). I used the putty to build up the back of the figure's head, then filed it off into a more-or-less right shape. The left side of his skull (the right as you're looking at it) looks a little dented, though. After fixing his new Picard-esque head, I turned to Tarzan's wrists. I chopped off his right hand and reattached it at a 90-degree angle so he could hold a weapon properly.

After that, it was just a matter of painting. I put down a couple of base coats of a very light gray first, since it covered the flesh tone better than plain white. Then I painted over that with a thin coat of flat white, then a blue-black wash, to bring out the biceps. Then, it was just adding the black makeup and painting the loincloth. I also added a tiny drop of blood at the corner of his mouth. Unfortunately, the paint tends to chip very easily on the elbow, knee, and ankle joints.

Of course, in game terms, this psi-stalker would be dead meat if he went out hunting naked like this, but I think it fits the mental image I have of "wild" psi-stalkers. Sometime I'll pick up another Tarzan or something and do a "civilized" psi-stalker figure, as well.
